Government and the King's Pilgrimage.

There are some things I need to write about here, before I smoke again and get more ideas. This is a place for me to digest these concepts and apply them to art and life as needed. I can take a concept like The King's Pilgrimage in my story, and evaluate the metaphor along with all it's subtleties. To do this, I'll begin by pasting a conversation I had with Lisa.

Hi babycakes, thanks for sharing it!
I had an epiphany, may I share?
    • Lisa Walling

I wanted you to have some of what ---[inserting J. for anonymity here]--- left here, and you s hared that bit with me last night, so it's my way of sharing back. Sure, share the epiphany too.
    • Luiz Teles

Issues of government have been on my mind lately. After playing this all day and smoking with you it hit me.
Government is a function of man's ego, it's a need to play god. For good or evil.
    • Lisa Walling

But it's just evil, because of the control factor.
    • Luiz Teles

That's why The Emperor sits so low in the Tree of Life.
    • Lisa Walling

      Oh, very smart.
    • Luiz Teles

To put it in my story: Lucius vision of government is him being a benevolent god.
In the final saga, he starts that way.
    • Lisa Walling

It looks like everything, but there's so much more than that.
    • Luiz Teles

Hence the plot will shove him into a forced pilgrimage. I want Dawna's adventures to take her to his side, to aid him.
    • Lisa Walling

      That'll be cool to read.
    • Luiz Teles

But yeah... that's why government is always behind the times. No matter how hard you try.
I swear, sometimes I can almost envision a near perfect society, but it never lasts.
    • Lisa Walling

      Such an idealist, you are.
    • Luiz Teles

I was born too late to party with the Enlightenment Era thinkers.
    • Lisa Walling

Maybe you'll start a trend of new ones.
    • Luiz Teles

This stuff goes in waves, it's very cyclical.
    • Lisa Walling

Yup. Some things go faster than others. Enlightenment seems like it takes a while to get around the whole cycle. Where music is pretty fast to turn over from mediocrity to genius and back again.
    • Luiz Teles

I take comfort in the fact that it's all connected. One idea like "Every man and every woman is a star" can snowball down the line and become viral.
When that becomes a basic set of values, it changes the structure of things.
    • Lisa Walling

Yup, itll happen if enough people think it.
    • Luiz Teles

I think this is why the Book of the Law coupled The Empress with The Hierophant, not The Emperor. Both adding to 11.
A proper King needs to aspire to more than the ego. He needs to have that spiritual fire from the gods.
    • Lisa Walling

I didn't realize that they were coupled.
    • Luiz Teles

      They are.
    • Luiz Teles

"16. I am The Empress & the Hierophant. Thus eleven, as my bride is eleven." Liber Legis 2:16
    • Luiz Teles

Hadit says this, the core of our star-soul.
This seems to indicate a key to the mystery of Thelemic Kingship.
The King must undertake a pilgrimage out to the desert, fight through the night of the soul and undergo all of the Major Arcana in his Inward Journey.
The adventure without mirrors the adventure within.

      --------------

So there you have it. Now that I'm revisit this, the exposition is already there. I'm writing about the inward journey, with many interesting characters along the way. I was playing Civilization V all day, and having a blast governing my own Utopian Society. And why the fuck am I stuck in the Facebook format now? Well, another entry is on the way.
